“I am a native of Quito, Ecuador. My first exposure to the concept of Naturopathic Medicine was as a young kid practicing Hatha Yoga at 14. One of the teachers had a textbook on Naturopathic Medicine by a Spanish author. I grew up very active in sports, basketball, track and cycling and also passionate about playing my guitar and singing. I have done mountaineering and climbed some of Ecuador’s highest mountains Chimborazo and Cotopaxi, and in Peru Huascaran and Cerro Pisco.
I did my undergraduate at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas and completed premed requirements at the University of Colorado and Colorado state university after I completed a 9 month course with the Outdoor Leadership Training Institute while based out of Boulder Colorado. Graduated as a Naturopathic Doctor from The National College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1985 and a diploma in acupuncture out of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 1986. I’ve also worked as a river raft guide in the American River.
I am a general family practitioner and have an eclectic practice using acupuncture, clinical nutrition , dietetics, herbal medicine and homeopathy. When a family member developed lung cancer 20 years ago, I started the use of more interventive therapies like high dose vitamin c, ozone therapy, hydrogen peroxide IV therapy and many others. Cancer care has become a very strong focus in my practice.
Prolo therapy, acupuncture and bowen therapy are particularly suited in athlelic injury, spains and strains, acute and chronic pain.
Chronic and acute infections. In my 28 years of practice there is nothing more dramatic in response for acute case of mononucleosis with several infusions of high dose vitamin c. Ozone therapy by nature of its powerful cellular and humeral immune mediation depending whether you do major or minor Autohemotherapy is again a great complement in patients undergoing conventional cancer treatment, and very suitable in treating chronic infections like lyme’s and hepatitis C. I also feel blessed in having prescribing authority as treating chronic lyme’s disease requires long courses of antibiotic therapy and in many cases IV antibiotic therapy but also do well in complementing with ozone therapy .
IV alpha lipoic acid, in treating neuropathies, hep c , and cancer.
Allergies: using blood to do IgG/A/E testing and also vega testing for food , environmental and phenolic sensitives. Elimination, rotation diet and where needed desensitization with mora therapy, sublingual desensitization drops, and homeopathy.
I have dabbled with the violin and piano and currently sing with the Victoria Starlight Pops Ensemble. I continue to practice hatha yoga, am a member of the Victoria Masters Swim Club and enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Together with my wife and colleague Dr. Jane O’Halloran we have raised four boys and run the Fairfield Health and Wellness Clinic, formerly the Fairfield Naturopathic and Acupuncture Clinic. The clinic has been serving the community in the same location for the last 28 years. “
